As an advocate of higher education and life long learning, QUT offers professional
development opportunities to the community and actively supports other organisations
who promote life long learning.
During the year the campus hosts personal and business development seminars
and workshops for local professionals. In 2007, the campus also hosted the inaugural
Community Learning Festival as part of Adult Learner’s Week.
The QUT Library offers teachers the opportunity to develop emerging information
technology literacy for use in the classroom. This service assists teachers
in developing learning experiences to better equip students for the 21st Century.
Computers have been donated by the campus to the Deception Bay Life Long Learning
Program to assist them in the implementation and delivering of courses. QUT
also donated computers to Caboolture Community radio station to allow them to
facilitate learning via internships and work experience.
